About The Company
Agentcy is located in Atlanta and was formed in 1997 by two software engineers with a hankering for
more fun, excitement and original thinking than their 9 to 5 jobs allowed.
The original concept for the company was to develop agent-based software for
commercial use. And thus the name: Agentcy. The original concept
never quite took off, but we continue to develop software for fun and profit.
The cofounders of Agentcy have over twenty years of software development
experience between them. They are hard core software engineers and
architects that develop mostly in Java and C++. They have designed and
developed large-scale software applications on a number of operating systems
including: Windows 9.x, NT, 2000, Linux, Aix, HP-UX, Tru-64. They are
masters of the following technologies:
C++, MFC, ATL, ODBC, OLEBD, Java, JDBC, JMS, JAXP, JSP/Servles,
XML, XSTL, OOD, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
And have knowledge of more development tools, technologies, and techniques
than you can shake a stick at.
About This Site
This site was developed using Java Server Pages technology. It
runs on a single processor 500MHz PC with 128MB RAM running RedHat Linux
7.0. The PC is connected to the internet via a standard ADSL connection
with a fixed IP address. The web site it served up by the Apache Web
Server and the Tomcat JSP&Servlet engine. Linux, Apache, and Tomcat
are all Open Source. The only software expense incurred to create this
site was the $40US for the RedHat 7.0 distribution. The funny thing
is: We prefer these Open Source products to commercial alternatives
costing several thousand dollars.
